The Few. The Proud. The Toddlers' Teachers at VBS.
On the way out to the pools.

The Good Kind of Pride
While he still has 11 shifts to work as a resident, Nate had his residency graduation ceremony last weekend. He'll start his new position as an attending at Children's Mercy (where he's been doing his residency here in KC the past 3 years) on July 13. I am so proud of how hard he has worked and excited for him to get to start the job he's really been wanting to do.

Walking across the stage, one last time!

Only 10 days old and already such a handsome little man.
I guess he gets it from his Daddy! :) The two of them are quite the pair already.
He slept the entire time. I forgot how much babies sleep. I know, I know...he'll wake up soon. Let's just hope it's during the daylight hours.
Big Sister, Little Teacher
Natalie is already taking it upon herself to teach Sutton how to sign. During her video, she moved from her pink chair back to where Sutton was and next thing I knew, she had his little hands in hers putting his fingers together to sign "more, more, more" along with the song on the video. She was also showing him how to sign "dog" and "train." Even though he slept through most of his first lesson, he's sure to be signing back to her in no time.

Natalie, Sutton & the Shrinking Monkey
I've taken pictures of Natalie with this monkey since she was 1 week old, so I decided to continue the tradition with Sutton. Natalie thought it was pretty fun to lay in the bouncy seat and have her picture taken with her baby and the monkey.

A Puppy and a Newborn
What could be better?

Getting the burps out with Grandaddy.
Kansas City Northern Railroad
We are so lucky to be only a couple miles from the train that Natalie loves. Granny and Grandaddy were all too happy to take her on it, over and over.

Sutton's first ride.

It's All Coming Back
I'd forgotten how tiny and amazing newborns are, especially to their own mommies. Cozy after his first bath. I can almost smell the baby lotion just from looking at the picture.

Dad does the baby baths in this house.
Little peanut.
Who says baby boy clothes aren't cute? I'm already addicted to all the little hats. And nothing can be better than a good-fitting carter's NB onesie.
Blondie. He looks a little like Natalie in this picture, with the squishy chubby cheeks. He's actually a long, lean baby, but he hides it well in this picture.

Welcome Home, Brother
When we drove into the driveway Natalie was waiting for us. Somehow she grew tons in 2 days. She's already a great big sister....adjusting well and loving baby brother.

Leaving the Hospital
I just love how tiny babies look in the carseat for the first time. It's always so amazing how quickly they grow, and it shows so much in the carseat pics.

One Day Old
Here's a random assortment of pictures from Sutton's second day here.
Wide awake for Dad.
So, this is what they mean by a quiver full, right?
"Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are sons born in one's youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their enemies in the gate." Psalm 127:4-5
Here's to one of the first of many Father-Son moments!
We're gonna have lots of "helping."
Natalie got a Gymbo puppet from Sutton.
She loved it.
Of course she wanted him to wear the puppet on his hand.
Good job sharing, Natalie. I'm sure this will continue to be just as simple for the many years to come. Right, other mommies of toddlers and babies?!
Toddler time in the hospital. I'm sure the window sills were put there just for big siblings to climb on.
Singing with Dad (Sutton was trying to go to sleep, so they thought singing "Jeesee ofs me" would help).
The singing worked.
Sutton had many visitors. He's already blessed with friends who love him and were excited to meet him. Thanks to all of you who have been thinking of us and him.

Meeting Baby Brother
It was love at first site. Lots of hugging and kissing. After calling him her baby over and over, she asked me "a mommy's baby go?" I hope she's fine with just sharing the one baby.

Saying, "Hold you, baby, hold you."

I've always loved the pictures of the bigger siblings meeting the babies, but now that it's MY babies in the pictures it's even greater than I could imagine.
