Virtual Tea Party and More

Natalie loves to talk to Granny K and Grandaddy on Skype. She used to be near silent the entire time they were talking to her, then talk non-stop after they would be gone from the screen. Well, not anymore. For a solid hour the other day Natalie played with Granny. First they read stories and did puzzles, then Natalie asked Granny to "come Granny, come" into her playroom so they could play in the kitchen. Mommy moved Gran into the playroom and Natalie immediately started offering Granny coffee (she knows just what Granny likes). It was too cute how she brought the coffee over to the computer. She even kissed and hugged Granny goodbye when it was time for her to go. Below is a shot of Granny sipping her coffee all the way from NC.
Granny definitely enjoyed this play time as much as Natalie did. And, Mommy got some chores done without being interrupted (except to move Granny ever now and then). This will have to happen more often from now on.

Bedtime Ritual
I love hearing and watching Nate read to Natalie and Sutton. When I tell Natalie Daddy's coming home, she's started saying, "He read me a book." She loves that guy, almost as much as I do. Sutton seems to enjoy Daddy's stories too. He really just enjoys being near all of us. Crazy how a baby can already seem to love the chaos that is his family.

Sibling love.
Making sure it's in just right.

Crack Up
Natalie was laughing so hard as I was rejecting her cheesy-fingered high fives. I just couldn't pass up getting the giggles on video. Some days she is just hilarious all day long.
Question: Who thinks they can interpret what Natalie's last line of the video is? I bet Aunt Kassa will win.

Here's another little story I can add as I wait for the video to upload. Nat was in the backseat yesterday as we drove home from the grocery store. She says (and I quote), "Oh, uh (in disgust) Mommy that sun is getting my eyes. I need my sunglasses." Honey, we'll get them when we get home. "No, Mom. That sun is getting me right now." Well, Mom doesn't know where the sunglasses are right now, Nat. " There in the back of the seat, Mom." Oh. So, of course, I reached my go-go-gadget arm back around the seat and gave her the hello kitty shades, so she could save her sweet baby eyes. She makes me laugh. And for the record, the bright sun really was in her squinty little eyes.
Sutton, Live
A little bit of the baby goodness I get to enjoy everyday. I adore this kid. He just needs to stop getting so big, so fast. Is he really big enough to be "talking" yet?! Obviously advanced. :)

Thumbsucker, every now and then.

Hold Me Up, Brother
About twice a week Natalie asks to hold Sutton. She actually looks at HIM and asks him. Luckily Mommy is usually is in ear shot and can help. Each time she holds him I think she's reminded of how wiggly and hard to hold he is, so it takes a few days before she asks again. This is lucky for Brother because her holding looks a lot like a wrestling move. Somehow, he still seems to love her affection.

Saying, "Ohhhh" to him. Trying to speak his language.
My face is happy and my heart is over-full looking at these pictures.
Watchin the Game
Sutton got to stay up late and watch the game that Daddy DVR'd.
He HAS to be the cutest little Sooner fan on earth.
Big Enough
Sutton is finally big enough to swing (a tiny bit) and loves it already. Natalie thinks it's great that he can be in there. Finally, something he's not too little to do.
("Brudder too widdle, Mom?)

Finding His Feet
I love the phase when babies start grabbing their feet. Chugging steadily along from phase to phase, Sutton's finding his feet is no exception. I could never have dreamed of how in LOVE I would be with this boy. He is such a joyful little addition to our family.

Too smart for her own good
I'm always impressed when Natalie exhibits knowledge of concepts that I am just sure are way beyond her years. :) For instance, this morning she asked me (in a tone that said she already knew the answer was "no") if Sutton was a princess. I explained that, "No, brother is a boy and boys are princes. Sutton is a prince." Oh, she replied. She then proceeded to name off the many princes and princesses she personally knows, all falling under the correct gender. I know, she's genious. She also asks me to turn the air up in the car because she's too hot, or to roll up her window because the wind is blowing on her too much. Or explaining that she can't see the moon because it's behind the trees right now or what have you. Well, today I'd asked her not to touch some clothes I had folded on the banister at the top of our stairs. A few seconds later, she was quickly grabbing off a shirt from the stack and running out of the hallway before I could get to her. I said, in my best stern mommy voice, "Natalie Glenn, I told you not to take those down. Why did you do that?" She said, "No talk to me, Mom. (talk=in trouble) That thing fell in my hand." Well, what was she supposed to do? It just fell right into her hand. That little stinker. I made her put it back as I tried really hard not to laugh in front of her. I'm afraid I'm in for it.
Finally a "Dining" Room
I knew when we bought this house it would be a while before we used the formal dining room for actual dining. I'd actually hoped it would be a playroom (still wasn't pregnant yet), but also thought it would be a pretty dining room. Well, it's finally happened. While the furniture is miniature, it's finally a great place to dine. You should join us for lunch one day, or at least a snack...

Labor Day Weekend
We went to Branson, as tradition has it. No Branson-y pics, but more of the kids. Natalie wanted Sutton to be in the picture with her.
He's getting stronger by the day.

TALKING TO DADDY

Not just a Youth Pastor
Nate went to a week long board review in Michigan. While he was gone, Izzy's Dad, Mr. Joe, came over with his family and filled in on some of the Dad duties, like grilling and rough housing the toddlers. I've been known to semi-jokingly say, "Joe's day off is our {mommies} day off." Thanks Joe! You're one of the best.

Look at this happy face.

Get 'im!
Got 'em.

And one of Baby Gabe.
